In the U.K., a study funded by the National Trust revealed that children are unable to spend as much time in nature as they wish, with accessibility as the main barrier. Another recent study found that “a third of British children spend less than an hour a day outside in summertime.”

This article in the Guardian (1 April 2024)  describes how Trust is now calling for young people to be no more than 15 minutes’ walk from green spaces.
