In England, this Wildlife and Countryside Link report explores the scale of the problem and the challenges and opportunities that the UK Government faces in aiming to meet its commitment for all households to be within 15 minutes-walk of nature.
In Scotland, the Programme for Government 2020 commits the Scottish Government to working with local government and other partners to take forward ambitions for 20 minute neighbourhoods . This concept also covers access to greenspace.
NatureScot has developed the Greenspace Map for Outdoor Learning. This has been followed by a pilot project Nature Discovery Map Scotland. This is currently being reported back to the Scottish Government.
