This article in The Conversation (21 April 2022) discusses the potential, and challenges, of the new GCSE in natural history (England and Wales). The authors argue that this new qualification will help to address the disconnection from nature in our largely urban population. A new GCSE can be supported by two other key initiatives in development in England – the National Education Nature Park and Climate Leaders Award.
