It’s an exciting time for ELC and outdoor learning in Scotland! Good news – the Early Learning and Childcare Directorate have published Out to Play – caring for our outdoor spaces (3 October 2023). This is part of the Out to Play guidance series, that aims to support Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) practitioners provide high quality outdoor play experiences for our children.
This Guidance aims to help early learning and childcare settings make the most of their outdoor spaces, and care for the environment through embedding Learning for Sustainability.
This is also relevant for anyone providing play experiences in an outdoor environment, and decision makers with responsibilities for developing outdoor play and learning and/or sustainable cultures and approaches.
