The Scottish Government have published a review of global evidence Systematic literature review of nature-based Early Learning and Childcare on children’s health, wellbeing and development which aimed to understand the extent to which nature-based early learning and childcare (ELC) influences young children’s physical, cognitive, and social and emotional development. Nature-based ELC was positively associated with children’s balance, self-regulation (ability to understand and manage behaviour), biophilia (affinity to the natural world) and play interactions.
