This Climate Exchange report (Heriot Watt University and the James Hutton Institute, September 2022) provides evidence to support the development of integrated policy interventions to increase sustainable travel among Scotland’s children and young people.
Its recommendations include that inclusive infrastructure which delivers a transport network that promotes independent movement from around age 12 should be a priority. Also we should consider wider travel behaviour, other than just journeys to school.
