Are you aged between 16-25, living in Scotland, and passionate about taking action for our seas?

Turning the Tide is a free online training and capacity building programme, designed to kickstart your journey into marine advocacy.

Running from January to April 2025, Turning the Tide is an online training and capacity building programme, designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to have a say in how our seas are managed. This free programme includes:

  • Online modules: Six live modules covering essential topics, including policy-making and effective communication with decision-makers.
  • Mentorship: Three individual mentoring sessions with our experienced team.
  • Peer connections: Access to a growing community of young marine advocates via our Discord server.
  • Community Gathering: Guaranteed participation in our in-person gathering in September.
  • Skill development: Develop teamwork, communication, and advocacy skills for future opportunities.

Who can join?

The programme is open to young people aged 16-25 in Scotland who are passionate about taking action for our seas. We are particularly keen to hear from young people who are currently underrepresented in the marine sector, such as those from ethnic minority or lower-income backgrounds.

What happens next

On successful completion of the programme, you will receive a certificate of completion and become part of a new and growing community of young advocates committed to driving positive change for Scotland’s seas. Here you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded young people, share experiences, and receive continued support through training and other opportunities.

Apply by Monday 23rd December 2024.
