A Lancet Psychiatry study (14-19 Learning & Skills Bulletin, issue 324, p10 19 February 2020) has used data from the University of Bristol's Children of the 90s cohort study to show that an additional 60 minutes of light activity daily at age 12 was associated with a 10% reduction in depressive symptoms at age 18. The findings are discussed in the context of young people’ increasingly sedentary lifestyles and the impact on mental health.
