This includes the findings that children’s physical activity is undertaken in a variety of settings, with ‘local pavements and streets’ (used by 92% of active children) and ‘homes/gardens’ (used by 77% of active children) most popular. In addition, a significant amount of children’s physical activity takes place in green and blue spaces such as ‘playgrounds or parks’ (51% of active children), ‘open spaces/parks’ (48%), ‘woodland’ (39%), ‘country paths’ (22%) and ‘beaches/rivers (22%).
