Outdoor and Woodland Learning (OWL) Scotland announce that applications for the 2025 Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards are open once again amazing prizes are on offer including £500 cash prize for the winning school and early years entry.

2024 had a superb range of applications but in the end the judges announced that Newcroft Childcare as the winners of the early years award and Selkirk High School as the winners of the schools award. The winners and runners up in all categories were celebrated at an awards ceremony in November, during National Tree Week at the Scottish Parliament.

Past winners and runners up have taken forward some amazing projects including transformation of disused areas of a playground into newly created woodlands, pupils planning and creating improved access to local woodlands, planting of school orchards and much more.
