Description

This Monitor of Engagement with the Natural Environment survey report (Natural England, 5 March 2019) finds that children and young people spend time outdoors more regularly than adults aged 25 and over, with most children being accompanied by an adult at the time. It reports that 67% of children and 56% of young people reported that being outside made them happy. Children from less affluent and ethnic minority backgrounds were less likely to spend leisure time outside and that levels of unsupervised time outside had fallen over the last four years.
