The Real Play Coalition have released reports on the Value of Play and Reclaiming Play in Cities (February 2020). The Value of Play explores the scale of the current play deficit, the impact of missed play moments on children’s lives (including active outdoor play) and the reasons behind the ongoing decline in play. It highlights how low-play and play-poverty are fuelling inequality and are behind a looming skills crisis. Reclaiming Play in Cities presents steps towards developing an Urban Play Framework.
