The Scottish Government published Best Start: strategic early learning and school age childcare plan for Scotland 2022-26 (6 October 2022).
The report sets out how the benefits of investment in 1140 hours of high quality funded early learning and childcare will be embedded. It also explains the approach to expanding the childcare offer over the next four years.
The document makes clear how being outdoors is integral to this vision for ELC in Scotland. ‘We will work with our partners to build on the range of outdoor learning support for providers that we put in place during the pandemic..’
