This post by the Children & Nature Network (August 16, 2019) shares findings from a Sky news report on a UK survey of adults and children commissioned by family activity app Hoop. 44% of parents said their child spent less time enjoying nature than they did as children and most children struggled to recognise common species. Another study reported how American children appear to be disconnected from local wildlife, preferring charismatic species in far-away places.
